Acrantophis dumerili This beautifully patterned snake uses it markings to blend in with the leaf litter on the floor of the forests of Madagascar. As the forests of Madagascar are cut down, there is less and less habitat in which this constrictor can exist which has led made this species vulnerable to extinction. Thanks to captive breeding efforts of zoos and private breeders, this wonderful animal has been given another chance for survival. |
