African Fat-tailed Gecko

Hemitheconyx caudinunctus

This gecko gets its name from its obviously chubby tail.  Many geckos store fat in the tail to use as energy when food (insects) is scarce, similar to how a camel stores fat in its hump. These geckos come from West Africa and use their brown and tan camouflage to blend into habitats such as dry woodlands and savannahs.
