Green Iguana
Iguana iguana

Named for the bright green color as a young (juvenile) animal, these lizards live in the canopy layer of tropical rainforests in Central and South America and are camouflaged to hide in the leaves of the trees.  They are a much lighter green to grayish in color as they get older as they tend to spend more time on tree branches rather than within the leaves.  Males, like the one pictured here, can grow to six feet in length and are able to change color to orange when they are feeling threatened or challenging another male.  They also drop a flap of skin from their chin called a dewlap that can also flash orange.
