There are a variety of pets today that require specialized training for the owner and for the veterinarian. While dogs and cats are probably the most common, we see a wide variety of behavior issues in dealing with these less common pets. Ferrets Rodents - Litter box training - Fighting - Aggression and/or biting - Biting - Introduction of new ferrets - Training Reptiles Birds - Aggression - Feather plucking - Nutrition - Aggression - Enrichment Rabbits Horses - House training - Weaving - Aggression - Crib biting Exotic Animals - Wind sucking - Species Specific Challenges Remember that your pet is acting in a natural way, even if it doesn't seem like it. Your pet is responding to a situation or threat in the only way it knows how. Do not ever resort to violence, even a tap on the nose as this may only make the problem worse. Always make sure you have contacted your veterinarian before contacting any behavior expert in order to rule out any medical issues that may be causing the problem |
