The purpose of Animalia's Dog Daycare is to provide a safe, fun and stimulating social environment for dogs during weekday business hours. We offer a large, temperature controlled indoor facility with two activity areas for a variety of dog interaction and play levels. We are not a dog kennel so, the dogs are provided with much more than just the basic necessities (see What Makes Us Different). They receive enrichment and exercise all day long. Dogs are rewarded through positive reinforcement for appropriate behavior. As we are behavior experts, we are happy to review known commands as well as work with your dog on any problem areas. Dogs receive group and individual play with our dedicated and professional staff. Safety is a primary concern for all dogs. Our staff is trained in animal first aid and CPR and we have a certified animal behavior trainer on site.
5607 E. Washington St. Indianapolis, IN 46219 (317) 695-5464
Located on the near East side of Indianapolis in Historic Irvington, the Washington St. storefront gives a peak at all the excitement inside. Clients enter through the rear entrance for safety and security as well as private access for you and your dog.
As one of Central Indiana's premier Dog Daycare and Training facilities, Animalia takes a different approach than the "pack as many dogs as you can in one space to make as much money as possible" approach of many dog daycares. Animalia is a federally registered non-profit organization. As such, it is part of our institutional mission to educate the public and promote the responsible care of your pets. Even if you or someone you know already use another dog daycare, remember, larger is not always better and quality always beats quantity. Upon entering our lobby, the check-in desk comes equipped with a doggie hitch if another dog is in the waiting room ready to enter. The lobby has a viewing window into the waiting room and the waiting room has a viewing window into the daycare rooms themselves. Even our on staff behaviorist's office has a viewing window into the daycare rooms.
With 2300 sq. ft. at our disposal, we have two activity rooms so that dogs may be separated by behavior types. The rubber floors are gentle on the older dogs limbs and provide excellent grip with no sliding for the younger dogs as they dash about. Floors are mopped and disinfected throughout the day and when the dogs have left for the day, the floors are steam cleaned, keeping the daycare sanitary. The walls and doors have sturdy plastic panels that hold up to the most rambunctious dog and are easy to clean. The front wall has plexiglass windows to allow the dogs to see the activity outside, people to see inside, as well as to let in natural light. Our daycare rooms are temperature controlled unlike some daycares that are open to the outside with the hottest temperatures of the summer and coldest temperatures of the winter. At Animalia's Dog Daycare, your pet's safety, health, and comfort are incorporated into our design and layout of our facility.
Dog daycare is designed to keep your dog appropriately socialized, exercised, and healthy. Below are 10 reasons why people might consider daycare for their dogs. 1. Those with over active dogs may need to burn that extra energy off to reduce the chances of boredom which leads to destructive behavior at home. 2. Some people may work long hours and are concerned that their dog may not be receiving enough interaction and attention. 3. Those who only have one dog may want their dog to be better socialized around other dogs. 4. New puppy owners take their dog to daycare to help manage the extra attention and care each new puppy needs without having so many accidents at home. 5. Others may be selling their home and cannot have a dog in the house when prospective buyers are visiting. 6. Some owners may be going out of town on a day trip or vacation and want their dog to also have an enjoyable time while the family is gone. 7. If you have ever tried to lay carpet, tile or paint your home when the dog is running around, you can appreciate the whole dog daycare concept. 8. New mothers love dog daycare since quite often the dogs do not get as many walks, playtime and/or attention now that there is a new arrival in the home. 9. In this fast paced world of working, taking children to sports practice/music lessons, grocery shopping, etc., many owners may find themselves too busy to give their dog all the attention and interaction that it needs and deserves. 10. Most owners take their dogs to daycare just because it looks fun and they think their pet will really enjoy it.
Here at Animalia's Dog Daycare we are committed to providing a safe, fun and stimulating social environment for your pet during weekday business hours. Your pet will enjoy supervised playtime with other dogs and our staff. Dogs enjoy an open space environment with room to run and are not crated unless necessary or for nap times if needed. To ensure the safety and health of your pet and our other guests, we require all guests to comply with the following rules and regulations. 1.
